Hi, my name is Brandi Nicole Jarrett and welcome to  A Natural Nuance Hair Spa, Inc. Since I visited P.D. Pruden in 1995, I’ve loved the artistry of hair. Granted it took a couple of decades for my dream of becoming a professional hair stylist to come into fruition, it did not stop me from perfecting my craft over the years.  Whereas I did not have the opportunity to attend cosmetology school while finishing my last two years of high school, I was under the tutelage of my best friend whom attended P.D. Pruden, graduated and became a licensed cosmetologist in the state of Virginia.  After years of chemically processing my own tresses, I decided to take the healthy route of transitioning my hair to it’s natural state.  I found that I had to study and become familiar with my natural hair texture.  It was then that I grew to love curls and the artistry of natural hair.

After graduating from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Arts in 2002, I continued my professional career in the legal field where I spent 14 years as a Paralegal/Office Manager.  Although I learned a lot working with attorneys and enjoyed my job to the fullest, by year 12 I realized that working for someone else was not my long term goal.  I also understood that I left a passion behind that was burning deep inside, just now it was with the love of natural hair.  In 2016 I enrolled in the Durham Beauty Academy for a certification in Natural Hair Care, and graduated in 2017 with the Superlative Award for Most Creative.  In June 2017 I opened A Natural Nuance Hair Spa, Inc., and began assisting women with their natural hair journey.

In December 2022, I began my journey in education to learn more about the strengthening of and restoring hair.  Because of the large percentage of women who suffer from  hair loss, I decided that it was important to be able to provide my clients with all options and resources available to aid them in their hair care and hair restoration.   Therefore, I  studied and earned my certification as a Trichologist through the American Medical Certification Association. As a certified Trichologist, I study issues and disorders related to hair and scalp, and their treatments. Now I have the knowledge to recognize issues and disorders that causes hair loss, and I can effectively address these concerns.

In addition, I specialize in working with textured hair, locs, protectives styles, updos and styles that can be worn every day.  I have also completed the COVID-19 Barbicide training, and part one/two of hair loss training and became certified as a Olaplex specialist.

I’m aware of, and sensitive to the challenges of transitioning into a natural state, and can provide professional solutions to make you look fabulous during the transition! In addition, I want to make your  time with me a pleasant and relaxing break in your day.
